Can you VT switch (i.e control+alt+f2)

No, cannot access VT. The green screen is frozen and only solution is to restart the pc.
Comment 3 Steffen 2020-01-26 13:46:15 UTC
I am having the same green screen issue with Ryzen 3200G since kernel 5.x. Before I now I am able to VT switch and then all sessions are working again. Same if I am able to blindly enter my password and suspend and resume my system. In older plasma /kernel versions it was not possible to get a working screen and I had to reset the computer.

Here the first 1000 lines of kernel log. The drm messages repeat a couple of times.

If you cannot switch to the Linux VT, there is an issue with the kernel. I suggest to report it to the bug tracker of your distribution.
