SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Draw anything
2. Open the layer in the timeline
3. Right-click the timeline and select 'Create Blank Keyframe' or any other option

OBSERVED RESULT
Literally nothing.

You need to provide more information and a detailed description of what you do and what happens.

Which version of krita are you using?

If you 'draw anything' in a layer, then that layer is obviously the selected layer.
If a layer is selected then it will be in the Timeline docker. So, what do you mean by 'Open the layer in the timeline'?

Where exactly do you right-click in the timeline? Which layer line? Which frame number?

If you right-click in frame-n of any layer in the timeline and select 'Create Blank Keyframe', it should indicate this by the timeline frame-n square having a hollow blue rectangle around it and the canvas will be blank (a blank keyframe) and the layer artwork will be pulled into frame-0.

What do you mean by 'literally nothing'? What changes (if any) do you see?

If you want to make existing (non animated) layer artwork into frame-0 of an animated layer, you can do 'Create Duplicate Frame' in frame-0 of the timeline for that layer, which will make it an animated layer
