SUMMARY

Crash in plasmashell when setting entry in systemtray to "Shown"

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch birdtray (https://github.com/gyunaev/birdtray)
2. Right-click on System tray icon and bring system tray settings dialog
3. Choose  Entries -> Birdtray -> Shown

The screen becomes black, then it redraws, system tray shows Birdtray icon and also sad smile notifying that the system has just recovered from a crash.

Additionally, opacity and colors of the Default panel become invalid, making it nearly unusable. Details are explained in this question in AskUbuntu: https://askubuntu.com/q/1197240/625814
