SUMMARY
When Discord is pinned to the task manager, other icons near Discord will change order when they're opened and closed, and Discord itself jumps to the end column.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pin Discord to the task manager
2. Click on icons around Discord

OBSERVED RESULT
Other icons pinned to the task manager change order

EXPECTED RESULT
Other icons pinned to the task manager stay in place

Could be Bug 385942. Can you find the .desktop file for Discord in /usr/share/spplications and tell me what the file's name is?
Comment 2 poperigby 2020-01-02 01:37:54 UTC
It's just "discord.desktop", so I don't think it's that.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2020-07-12 05:07:09 UTC
... But only when Discord is pinned? Not under any other circumstance?
Comment 4 poperigby 2020-07-12 06:21:12 UTC
Yeah. Only with Discord.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2020-07-12 15:21:17 UTC
That's really very weird. I don't see it myself with Discord pinned, FWIW.
Comment 6 poperigby 2020-07-12 17:55:10 UTC
It doesn't seem to be happening anymore. But let me give it a while just to make sure.
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2020-07-13 20:06:40 UTC
OK cool, just let me know. :)
Comment 8 poperigby 2020-07-13 21:26:48 UTC
Ok. I've played around with it and it seems to have been fixed. Thanks for the help (:

Phew!

I have just started to experience this myself, with Element (re-branded Riot) from FlatHub. Having it pinned makes other apps jump around whenever anything is re-arranged. Un-pinning it makes this behavior stop.

Do you remember if you had installed Discord from FlatHub, or was it a distro package?

It was a distro package

This bug hasn't been seen by anyone in a long time; assuming it's been fixed now. There have been a lot of code changes that could explain it.
