What you can try is delete kdenliverc see here: https://community.kde.org/Kdenlive/Configuration. Kdenlive 17.12.3 is not supported anymore. It could be that together Linux Mint 19.2 that some functionality is gone. Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.12.0a https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/
