1. Are you using a high DPI scale factor? And if so, what's the value and does the issue reproduce at 1x scale?

2. Does this reproduce when using the default Adwaita theme for GTK apps?

I tested it now on two differen notebooks, both with Manjaro KDE:

The issue happens for
1) scaling 1.0 an 1.5
2) dpi scaling
2.1) not forced
2.2) forced 96 or 144 dpi
3) the Breeze as well as Adwaita theme for GTK apps

So it seems not to be a Breeze and not an Adwaita issue (if both don't have the same bug). Do you think it's a GTK issue? It's also the only GTK app where I have noticed it so far.
I could not reproduce it on Windows 10, though.

Yeah, your evidence points to it being a GTK issue or a Thunderbird issue, not a Breeze GTK theme issue. I'm not able to reproduce though. Either way, please report to the Thunderbird folks to start with. Thanks!

Done! With which setup could you not reproduce it?

Any of them. :)
