STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a file in KWrite. 2. Modify it, without saving. 3. Delete the file on the disk. 4. Switch back to KWrite. It warns you that the file was deleted by another program, with the options "Close File", "Save As" and "Ignore". 5. Click "Close File". 6. In the dialog "Do you want to save your changes or discard them?", click "Cancel". OBSERVED RESULT The same "Do you want to save your changes or discard them?" dialog pops up again, and you have to click Cancel a second time. Then it doesn't happen again. EXPECTED RESULT It gets the message the first time. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS OS: openSUSE Tubleweed 20191216 KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0 Qt Version: 5.13.1

Still an issue on git master kwrite.
I can't reproduce this on KDE Neon with kwrite 25.11.70. It's an old bug so it might be fixed alongside something else. If no one can reproduce this I believe we can close this as WFM.
Created attachment 183639 [details] attempt to reproduce
I can't reproduce it either. It may have been fixed when KWrite was rewritten to use Kate's codebase.
