Thank you for reporting. Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.12.0a to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

Removing kdenlive and reinstalling it on Lubuntu was no fix. There was an error message of GTK complaining on a missing parent for the dialogue. I will further on use the proposed Kdenlive AppImage version 19.12.0. Thank you

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 20.12.2 https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.12/linux/
