My bluetooth speaker runs on battery and has its own volume knob. It is possible to control its volume directly through Bluez (dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=org.bluez /org/bluez/hci0/dev_00_42_79_DC_D5_xx org.bluez.MediaControl1.VolumeDown). My android phone and smart TV can also adjust its volume. It would be nice if the volume applet controlled the volume of the speaker itself instead of a virtual soundcard or whatever it does now.
It probably would be good if PulseAudio would automatically bind the volume of the sink to the hardware volume of the device, but I'm not sure if this is feasible or on the radar.
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/merge_requests/239 looks like it could be related, but I don't understand it enough to be sure
That got merged. Any chance this got fixed automatically?
