Description n.fabritius 2019-12-15 00:11:24 UTC
The 'Global Shortcuts' panel allows to configure custom keyboard shortcuts. If I add a global shortcut to launch 'htop', the application is not started when the shortcut is pressed. Launching htop from krunner works as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Goto System Settings -> Shortcuts -> Global Shortcuts
2. Press the '+' button to add a new shortcut for an application
3. Choose System -> Htop and click OK
4. Define a key combination for the entry 'Launch Htop'
5. Logout of Plasma and log back in
6. Press the key combination

OBSERVED RESULT
Htop is not started

EXPECTED RESULT
Htop is started

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OS: Kubutnu 19.10 with backports ppa
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0
Qt Version: 5.12.4

Can confirm,

does *not* work if following the Global Shortcuts (as mentioned in the previous report).

Adding it to Custom Shortcuts, *does* work:

Custom Shortcuts > Examples > New > Global Shortcut > Trigger Meta+H > Action htop

Same thing on Arch Linux + Plasma 5.18 beta.
