I welcome that you have not set Google as default search engine because it engages in unfair practices. My favourite search engine is Qwant. It is a European company located in France and offers completely independent web indexing as duckduckgo does. However data protection laws use to be better in the EU and there is no automatic NSA extradition outside the US. That is why I use Qwant:
* https://qwant.com/?q=%s&t=web
  Though it is quite easy to install an own search engine with Falkon it would be a hit to have this as default choice option.

Hello,

There is enough predefined search engines in Falkon.
For privacy oriented things there is Startpage.
Adding new search engine can be done by user.

Best regards,
Juraj
