(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kio-kamera Version: 3.0.0-3 When I invoke the Digital Camera panel under the Control Center I can add my digital camaera (an Olympus D-220L and it correctly sets the option to serial and allows me to select the port. However it does not allow me to select the speed. This is important because gPhoto2 needs to be set at 19200 (and not 115200) for this and other older cameras. gPhoto2 works fine with this camera from the command line if you pass it the --speed 192000 paramter. Any commands in the control center (Test configure information) just hang and eventually time out with an error: Unable to initialize the camera check you settings and retry. Then "Unspecified Error." Using the camera:/ url in Konq will eventually time out when you try to open the folder saying the camera could not be initialized. I suggest you add a drop down list of available speeds and use that setting when opening the camera in the gPhoto API. It's possible this should be handled by the gphoto stuff which should be able to autodetect the camera's speed. It worked in gphoto 1 at one time. I only have this camera to try. I am using KDE 3 in Red Hat 7.3 Beta (7.2.93). Ed
it does lack an option for that, yes. :/

As far as I can tell from the sources (lacking a serial port camera), there's still no speed setting as of v18.07.90.
