Hi Postix,

I am afraid I can't reproduce this bug on my end.
Can I also ask whether you can reproduce the bug consistently on your end as "sometimes" would suggest otherwise.
If you can reproduce it consistently, it would be great if you could provide step-by-step instructions on how to do so.
Let me know if the steps below are incorrect.

Steps I followed:

1. Opened Gwenview
2. Opened a recent folder and opened any image
3. Maximized Gwenview and also tried full screen when viewing the image
4. No gaps or random pixels as shown in your screenshot were visible

Tested With:
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2

I played around again and it can be triggered sometimes if when the user openes the side panel. I made a video to demonstrate it. You'll see the first two or so no bug was triggered but after that it stayed.

In the demo video it's actually the bottom bar with the preview area which triggers the bug, when it becomes opened/closed. However, it also worked by opening or closing the side bar, which is probably equivalent to invoke the full screen mode as it automatically opens the side bar.

Edit: Sorry for the many typos in the post above. :)

I cannot reproduce it with a scaling factor of 2,0 but with a fractional scaling of 1,5. Can you please test it with that again, like in the video shown?

Do you need more information?

I wonder if this is/was fixed by https://phabricator.kde.org/D25611, which unfortunately just got reverted. :(

Maybe you can friendly ask zzag to reproduce it first without and then with his patch in order to narrow down the cause of this issue? :)

Yep I can confirm that it's the same issue; it's gone if I revert the reversion. Marking as a dupe. So once the feature eventually gets back in, this issue will be fixed in Gwenview too.
