Description Peter van der Helm 2019-11-28 16:59:08 UTC
Installation of kate 19.08.3 on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS via snap went well, but file menu options like Open.. and Save as.. do not work.
Comment 1 Christoph Feck 2019-12-19 15:30:19 UTC
This is most likely an issue with the snap packaging. Do you know where you installed the snap from?

Hi Christoph,

I installed it via the command: sudo snap install kate

which I found on https://snapcraft.io/install/kate/ubuntu

Btw, launching kate in terminal, by /snap/bin/kate, yields the (error)
messages in the attachment (I don't know how to interpret them).

Hope you can help.

Regards, Peter

Peter I've just installed the kate snap and can confirm that these both work, can you please re-test and advise if this is still an issue.
