Description severin.kunz 2019-11-24 21:17:28 UTC
The Highlighter tool should highlight a word when double clicking

Makes sense, this is the behavior for normal selection; it could do the same thing for highlighting.

This is also relevant for touchscreens.

The amount of precision required to highlight with the finger is way too high when the selection works by characters, it's very easy to accidentally highlight extra spaces, characters or even words. This in turn requires an undo action, which needs the user to either leave tablet mode to type or to add a new undo button in the toolbar.

I also would like to see this feature implemented.

I was about to file a bug until I saw this one.
In addition to the lack of double-click to select in the Highlighter tool, even the Text Selection tool does not allow you to double-click-and drag to select multiple words a word at a time.
