SUMMARY Similar issue here. Yakuake only opens in a screen in vertical stack configuration. When I change the focus to the other monitor, Yakuake won't show. When I have horizontal stack configuration, Yakuake appears in the monitor that has the mouse focus, as is expected. The problem persist when I have changed the vertical stack order, only appears in one monitor (lower or upper). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have dual monitors 2. Configure them on top of each other 3. Try to open Yakuake on the lower one. 4. Change the order. Now Yakuake appears in lower but not in upper screen when focus is active her. If you change the Primary option, the bug persists. OBSERVED RESULT Yakuake won't show on lower screen (or upper). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon Testing Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0 Qt Version: 5.13.2 Kernel Version: 4.15.0-72-generic OS Type: 64-bit
Created attachment 127765 [details] Yakuake not showing up on the upper display I was looking for an open bug report and confirm that this issue still persists. Reproduce: Dual monitors stacked on top of each other as in the attachment. No problems whatsoever when I use the panel on the bottom of my primary display (below display), but problem appears when I move my panel to the top of my primary display. Yakuake fails to open under this condition.

Yakuake fails to open under this condition. Yes i can confirm this. If the panel is on the bottom of the top monitor, then yakuake wont show on the lower monitor. In short, yakuake will not open if above it is a panel(on other monitor, but same x-window). As a workaround i use my panels on the side.
This should be fixed in the next release. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 396697 ***
