SUMMARY
Onion skin doesn't work, neither does the sketch disappear when transitioning to next frame. I have even tried deinstalling and reinstalling Krita, and it is still the same.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Windows 10 
2. Open animation layout

Thank you for the .kra file.
The .kra file contents don't correspond to the screenshot attachment in your initial post:
I see one black dot on frame-0 then the original black dot plus another one on frame-1, then plus another, etc until it gets more complicated after all the Held frames.

Did you want/expect a single dot moving left to right across the image?

The onion skins images are all fine but there is a confusing part at frame-2 and frame-3 where only one green dot is shown and I think this is due to the interpretation of Held frame content as regards 'nextness'. This might be worth consideration later.
It renders out ok to .mp4 and that plays ok.

Can you reconsider the problem, as you see it from your side, and provide more information and description of what your concern is.

As a side issue, how did you get a white background? Did you set the ckeckerboard pattern to be white+white? If so, that's not a good idea because it's hard to tell where transparency is. The best way to have a white background is to put a non-animated white layer under your animated layer(s).
