SUMMARY
Color Picker failure to revert to brush when custom quick key is assigned.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Got to Settings -> Configure Krita -> Canvas Input Settings -> Alternate Invocation -> Change input for 'Pick Foreground Color from Merged Image' to 'Alt + Left' Button, instead of 'Ctrl + Left Button' -> Close window.

2. Select brush tool -> Hover the cursor over the canvas -> Keep the cursor stationary -> Press Alt to bring up the color selector -> Release Alt.


OBSERVED RESULT

As long as the cursor is stationary, the Color Picker won't revert to brush after releasing Alt key.


EXPECTED RESULT

Color Picker instantly reverts to brush after releasing Alt key, while cursor is stationary. This happens correctly when Ctrl Key is assigned to color Selector.

I cannot reproduce this in Linux, maybe a windows only bug?

Yes, I can reproduce that on windows. I'm not sure it's something we actually can fix, since alt is rather special on Windows.
