SUMMARY
File Layer stops automatic update after the first time.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a File Layer.
2. Edit the image linked to the File Layer then save.
3. The File Layer will update.
4. Try to repeat Step 2, the File Layer will no longer update from this point on.

OBSERVED RESULT
File Layer will automatically update once after the linked image has been edited then saved.

EXPECTED RESULT
File Layer updates every time the linked image is edited then saved.

on macOS the File Layer updates after every save. Tested from a kra edited in another window and a png edited from the Gimp.

This currently only happens in very specific circumstances, as noted in the duplicated report.
