Description Christoph Vogtländer 2019-11-06 12:18:03 UTC
I configured Baloo using the KDE system settings. I added a folder that should be excluded from file indexing.
Using "balooctl monitor", I can see that the folder gets indexed nonetheless.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. activate index based file search
2. add a folder (in home directory) to excludes
3. save settings and start indexing

OBSERVED RESULT
files in excluded folder get indexed

EXPECTED RESULT
files in excluded folder should be skipped (recursively)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.63.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When adding the exclude list, it appears as "foldername" in the list. After closing and reopening the settings dialogue it will then be shown as "/foldername". This might indicate that the folder is expected to be in the file system root. Actually, it is a sub-folder of my $HOME folder

Fixed in a rewrite that will be released with Plasma 5.18.
