Message list is too big

SUMMARY

I cannot resize the message list. It is somehow in a fixed size, taking most of the screen size, and allowing only a tiny bit to display the email list. Whenever I try to resize, the message list will stay the same size, and it will throw an error whenever the mouse passes through the border:

I am using large fonts because my mother has bad eyesight, and somehow I cannot resize the message list with fonts larger than 13. It is bad for users who need more accessibility.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change default font size to 13
2. Open kmail
3. Try to resize message list

OBSERVED RESULT

It will take up most of the screen

EXPECTED RESULT

I expected it to be able to resize nicely so I can at least have a better view of the email list
