Description Tim Johnson 2019-11-02 14:47:13 UTC
SUMMARY
I was just about to reconcile my wife's bank account, and noticed that entries I had already reconciled to her 1 Oct statement were showing as unchecked.
When I dug out the scanned copy of that reconciled statement, there were also about 6 entries that were no longer there on Skrooge. I had to reconstruct the previous month's entries so that I could reconcile the statement again before I could look at this month's.
A few weeks ago I noticed the a few entries I had keyed were missing, but this time it's a whole lot worse. I have had no error messages that I know about, nor any problem saving work after input.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I checked my own bank account.
2. Simlarly old entries that had been checked were shown as not checked.
3. About 12 entries were missing.

OBSERVED RESULT
As above.

EXPECTED RESULT
That Skrooge isn't losing lots of my transaction history!

Hi,

I never had this kind of issue.
Are you sure you didn't do something to come back on a previous version?
Example:
- CTRL+Z to undo modifications
- Replace the file by a old one (synchronization with on cloud can produce this)
- Forget to save the file after modification
- ...

You can have a look on the history to see what happen in your document.

Anyway, without detailed scenario to reproduce the issue, I can fix it.
Regards.

Hi Stephane,

Thanks for the reply.

I do use Nextcloud/PCLOS-Cloud to synchronise a copy of all my important files, and that must have been what caused it.

That makes me wonder what else I need to do to ensure a cloud version of a file does not overwrite a more up to date local version, but that's not a question for you to answer! I will check with their experts.

Thanks again. Kind Regards. Tim
