SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have KDE Connect running in system tray when computer is set to sleep at the end of the day 2. Wake the computer after 6-8 hours OBSERVED RESULT Error message in KDE Connect config window until the program is quit and restarted EXPECTED RESULT Program should resume normal function and connect to android phone automatically SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 1903 OS Build: 18362.418 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
thank you for filing the bug, I'll take a look!
I've noticed its not just when my system awakes from sleep mode, If connect runs for too long it seems to run into some type of error. The config window will say "Failed to execute program org.kde.kdeconnect: The system cannot" until it is restarted. I'm not sure if its something my computer is doing (because my system is a little old at this point even though windows is up to date) or something conflicting with the program.
I have the same problem. At any time, KDE Connect can completely "just not work" unless I restart it. Even then, it can take quite a bit of time (a minute, maybe half an hour) for KDE Connect to begin working again. Eventually I will get "Failed to execute program org.kde.kdeconnect: The system cannot...(find the file specified)..." Meanwhile, my phone and laptop can see each other and respond to one another with no issues. Firewalls have been disabled for testing but make no difference.
I'd like to add, I'm using kdeconnect-kde-master-263-windows-msvc2017_64-cl.exe.
KDE Connect should not crash as often as it used to, anymore. Also, it is not able to restart on its own reliably right now and a fix is under review already! Please install the latest build from https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/kdeconnect-kde_Nightly_win64/ for a smoother experience! Some relevant improvements:- - battery plugin does not crash kdeconnect anymore - resume from suspend should not crash kdeconnect anymore - notifications should not crash kdeconnect anymore If there are any crashes feel free to revert to me through this thread!
