SUMMARY

After updating from 19.08.1 to 19.08.2, the button icons in the Documents tool view (New document, Open document, Previous/Next document...) turned from 22x22 to 16x16.

kate was not the only KDE app that received an update that day, though I'm certain the issue was already affecting me before updating Frameworks from 5.62 to 5.63.

I am not entitled to dictate what the application should look like, but I clearly found this change to worsen my experience. I tried to find a setting for the size of those icons but failed to do so.

Is this still an issue in newer versions of Kate?
Comment 3 magiblot 2020-10-27 08:56:13 UTC
Yes, it is. However, since this looks like a design choice, and nobody else complained, I will close this bug. I have gotten used to the new icon size, so I will not even open a feature request to allow adjusting the icon size.

Cheers.
