Description odzinic 2019-10-24 00:39:51 UTC
SUMMARY
Previous versions of Kate used to allow me to save changes to root files with a password prompt. The prompt no longer appears and the application freezes when attempting to save.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a root file in Kate
2. Make a change to the file
3. Save the file

OBSERVED RESULT
The program will freeze and must be cancelled through a system monitor.

EXPECTED RESULT
A password prompt appears and the file is saved when the correct password is entered.

This issue disappeared for me a few weeks ago and I am unsure what fixed it because I reinstalled kubuntu-desktop, reinstalled nvidia drivers and updated kate.
