Description alexwi 2019-10-23 03:11:19 UTC
Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon.

When copying files or folders with dolphin, there's no indication of progress anywhere.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open dolphin and set to dual pane.
2. Copy a large file from one panel to the other (e.g. a 500MB file, so it's not immediate).

No indication of progress is shown anywhere. When copying files, I can see the file size growing on the target panel, but with folders, there's no way to tell when the copy is done.

Thanks for the pointer to the patch!

I'm surprised that a bug that has been known since 2017 wasn't fixed until April of 2019.

I now have to look into what to do in order to apply it, as I've never built any app straight from source code. That is, unless there's an easier way to have install an already patched version of kio on mint 19 without breaking anything.
