Windows ports use Breeze
What does this bug mean? That we shall use Oxygen? I wouldn't try that, as breeze is the currently actively maintained icon set and is more in style with what Win10 has as icons anyways.
(In reply to Christoph Cullmann from comment #1) > What does this bug mean? > That we shall use Oxygen? The bug is that Oxygen is currently being used. I reported a bug, not a wish. You yourself linked https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9N41MSQ1WNM8 , https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9NWMW7BB59HW , and https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9PPRZ2QHLXTG in a Reddit post. Never looked at the actual site or tried to launch those apps under Windows? > breeze is the currently actively maintained icon set and is > more in style with what Win10 has as icons anyways. Exactly. Even more baffling then that you use Oxygen instead of Breeze.
You mean the application icons? Or the icons used in the applications themself? In the applications the breeze icon set is used. For the application, we use the icons the maintainers preferred.
The application icons are currently Oxygen and that's wrong – neither fitting style guidelines of any Win version since Win8 nor being the "currently actively maintained icon set" as you wrote yourself.
I am sorry, but that needs to be discussed with the application maintainers. We use the icons they prefer. If you want different ones, they need to pick them. You can open bugs for that if you like (for the individual applications), thought I am not sure how well perceived that will be. As Kate maintainer, I can say I prefer the current icon, thought I have already the plan to get a completely new one that is more distinctive for the future. Therefore I will not change that for Kate.
