Sorry I have right clicked in dolphin and open with amarok. The songs are in the playlist but can't play.
If I drag and drop the file from dolphin to amaroks playlist it will play.

and why not actually drag it from Amaroks collection into the playlist?
since Amarok relies on managing a music collection that is the way to use it

The path of the files don't belong to the collection. The songs should not belong to the collection at the moment.

Does it play if you drag it from the Amarok file browser into the playlist? That was actually the question, sorry if I misformulated it.

Tested on 2.9.71, TagLib 1.13. M4a file plays and I can edit tags. AAC does not, but there's an earlier bug report on that, so marking this as duplicate.
