plasma notes can create only one unique sticky note. New note will be duplicate of first note. ..they mirror each other STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. add widget ->create a note (A)on desktop ->write in it 2. then go to add widget in order to add a new note (B) on the desktop 3. you ll see a new note with same content as in note A changing content in note A will change content of not B and vice-versa OBSERVED RESULT new note content is duplicate of other note. Note content is not independent EXPECTED RESULT notes: we should be able to create several independent notes as before SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Operating System: Gentoo KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.63.0 Qt Version: 5.12.5 Kernel Version: 5.3.6-gentoo-r1jms-0.7.12 OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor Memory: 31,3 GiB of RAM
Can you make a screencast of this, please.
I think OP's reporting a wishlist item for two notes to share the same file, rather than a bug.
Upon close reading I think a bug is being reported here whereby all notes inappropriately share the same content. I can't reproduce the issue, though.

I can't reproduce the issue, though. yep that's it. my install is less than 3 weeks old all shiny and supposedly not yet messed up. only upgraded from previous framework/plasma/app. did not try to add multiple notes before upgrade. I ll try a screencast

do you need more infos?
ok so there was a bug but not from note. for info this bug came from amd ryzen and how it set uuid. see for info https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/cff976/are_keyboard_shortcuts_broken_on_51631/euvol55/ all uuid created are the same. doing a bios update (or microcode) will solve the problem. Works for me
Wow, would I would never guessed that. We do use UUIDs in the note filename. Thanks for following up on that.
