Buggy, black check boxes

SUMMARY
After updating to breeze-gtk 5.17.0-1 on Arch, check boxes and radio buttons in menu items are sometimes black instead of their normal appearance. Mousing over them (without clicking) sometimes - but not all the time - changes them back to their normal appearance. Mousing over them again turns them black again in the same way.

Possibly related: the title of the active window in the "window list" on a Mate panel is now white on the active window, instead of the darker colour it was before this version of breeze-gtk. This could just be a change instead of a bug though.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any gtk application that has menu items with check boxes and/or radio buttons.
2. Open the menu that includes those items.
3. If the buggy appearance doesn't show right away, mouse over the items a few times, or close the menu and open it again.

OBSERVED RESULT
Black check boxes (see screenshot) and radio buttons. Check boxes and radio buttons that change from black to normal in a buggy way when mousing over them.

EXPECTED RESULT
The normal, light-coloured, check boxes and radio buttons

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
