How are you resizing it?
Comment 3 Xwang 2019-10-16 22:22:58 UTC
I unblock objects, right click on the folder widget till the "menu" on the left appears and then I move the bottom corner till the deseride position and block the objects.
Is there another way to do that?
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2019-10-16 22:26:24 UTC
Ah yes, of course, silly me! :p
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2019-10-16 22:26:47 UTC
Does the same thing happen with any other widgets that you manually resize, or just Folder View? Can you test?

It happens only with that folder view.
On the desktop there is another folder view which is greater and which has no issue.
Other widgets of different type do not have issue too.
Is there maybe a minimum area for the folder view?

I have the same problem with folder view resetting the size and then rearranging other applets on the desktop to fit following a recent install of openSUSE Leap 15.2 retaining original /home folders

Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.2
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0
Qt Version: 5.12.7
Kernel Version: 5.3.18-lp152.33-default
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 12 ร— AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM
Comment 11 Nate Graham 2023-04-27 16:50:41 UTC
Anyone able to reproduce this exact issue in Plasma 5.27?
Comment 12 Patrick Silva 2023-04-28 18:17:31 UTC
I can reproduce with Folder View widget.

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0
Qt Version: 5.15.9
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Comment 13 Nate Graham 2023-05-01 19:59:29 UTC
Any chance you can post exact steps to reproduce or a screen recording?
Comment 14 Patrick Silva 2023-05-01 22:02:55 UTC
1. add the Folder View widget to desktop
2. resize it as you want
3. logout and login

Rwsult: the Folder View widget is taller than it was before logout and login
Comment 15 Nate Graham 2023-05-14 17:39:57 UTC
Still cannot reproduce with those exact steps.

Does it happen in a clean user account?
Comment 16 Patrick Silva 2023-05-14 19:36:14 UTC
Cannot reproduce with a new user account created right now. The bug persists in my main user account.

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0
Qt Version: 5.15.9
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Comment 17 Nate Graham 2023-05-14 23:23:49 UTC
:/ Stale config somewhere, probably. Could be a deeper issue in how plasmoid configs are stored that would require investigation by someone who understands that stuff.
Comment 18 Nate Graham 2025-01-09 21:40:35 UTC
Does the issue still persist in your main user account as of the Plasma 6.3.0 beta, Patrick?
