SUMMARY The file formate to save manually modified images can be defined in the preferences. But when modifying images by the BatchQueueManager, the files get saved as a copy but in the same file format as the original was. Additionally, in case of JPEG's the file size is reduced to about the half. That means the image is not in same quality afterwards. With this behaviour, the BatchQueueManager is useless for me. Why is there no option to configure the file formate for the BatchQueueManager? SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS macOS: Mojave 10.14.5 and 10.14.6
The BQM has its own tab for setting the quality to save. Here you can set the desired JPEG quality, this will also be saved when saving a workflow. In BQM you have the possibility to add a tool for saving in different image formats. Maik
Maik Thanks for your answer. The settings for JPEGs I have found and set to maximum quality. Even though the files are obly aabou half the original size. So that doesn‘t help. How can this tool to save in PNG be installed? Where to get it? Regards 00pippo
If I use a JPEG quality of 95-98 similar to the files of my camera, the file size is quite identical. What kind of editing do you do on the images? The tools to save are in the same list as the editing tools "Convert to ..." These will be added to the end of an edit queue. Maik

I have a Sony alpha 6000. Does that camera use an inefficient jpeg compression mode? Besides, JPEG2000 as well as PNG are about 3-5 times as big as the original from the camera (tried with digikam 6.2.0)...
