Description David C. Bryant 2019-10-10 10:38:07 UTC
SUMMARY
I hadn't started Neon in a few days (I'm running multiple versions of Linux on one machine). When I booted it up today, the automatic updater said I had updates to install.I said OK, Discover started up, I saw the wheel spinning for about 2 seconds, and then it died with a segmentation fault.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot Neon
2. When automatic updater says "updates available" say "install then"
3. Discover runs for 2 seconds, then dies

OBSERVED RESULT
I tried, several times, to use the automatic bug reporting system to report this crash. That runs OK for a while, then it asks me to install some missing DEBUG packages. I say OK, but that never works. I get "the backtracking report is useless". So I'm filing this bug report manually, from my Debian system.

EXPECTED RESULT
Automatic updater should fetch a bunch of updates and install them.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I guess I'll read up on using "apt-get" to fetch the updates, and see if I can get the updates installed that way.

This issue was fixed recently, it was a packaging issue in Qt. You will have to use the terminal to update. You can do so by calling "pkcon update".

Sorry for the inconvenience. :/

Sorry to tell you this, Aleix, but it's still a problem. I ran pkcon and got as far as entering root's pwd. Then I got this message:

Fatal error: E: http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates/main amd64 libgl1-mesa-dri amd64 19.0.8-0ubuntu0~18.04.2 is not (yet) available (404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.91.24 80])

So it looks like something about the repository is still all hosed up.

Thanks!

Then it's an issue in Neon, not sure what could be up.

A backtrace would also help.

OP sent me an e-mail saying it's resolved for him.
