SUMMARY
I setted up digiKam and added next to a local album location one on the network drive. The network drive has a size of 80 Gb. If I click on album and press F5, digikam crashes within a few seconds. Maybe a size problem?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on album
2. Press F5
3. Crash within a few seconds

OBSERVED RESULT
Crash

EXPECTED RESULT
No crash but scan process

No, no problem of size. Rather a broken image in the album. Please download DebugView from Microsoft and start it. Post the log from start to crash.

Seems to be in context of a locked database. I have deleted the databases and created new ones but nothing changed. Hope someone can help.

Ok, this crash is already fixed. You can test the pre-release version of digiKam-6.4.0:

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

Another thing is the external album. You should assign a drive letter to the network share. We do not support network paths.
