SUMMARY I just logged a seperate automated bug via drkonki when my Kmail crashed. It suggested that it would be useful to the devs if I installed the backtrace symbols(?). When I attempted to do that I could see that it failed to download them in my terminal. The way around it was to enable the OPENSUE-Tumbleweed-debug repo in YAST2. It would be far better for drkonki to automatically check to see if this repo is enabled, and if not ask the user if it can be enabled (again done automatically), and then try to download the backtrace symbols. This would certainly lead to a smoother interaction with the user, and could potentially increase more useful bug reports to the devs. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. invoke drkonki without the debug repos being enabled, and try to log an automated bug report. Apologies i think it should be 'debug symbols' rather than 'backtrace symbols'!
You'll need to talk to your distribution. Installing symbols is a functionality implemented on a distribution level, drkonqi only provides the UI.
