SUMMARY Brush disappears when switching to another image using the color selector to select a color and then switching back to the original image. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open image 1 (Via File/New) 2. Open image 2 (Via File/New) 3. Switch from Image 2 to Image 1 (click on window tab) 4. Press Ctrl to select a color and select a color 5. Switch back to Image 2 (click on window tab for image 2) OBSERVED RESULT In image 2 the brush/cursor is gone. Only left clicking on the image will make the brush/cursor show up again. Cursor is even invisible outside the image border in the image window, only on the toolsbars/dockers it becomes visible again. EXPECTED RESULT Brush/cursor is visible after switching to Image 2. (Works in krita-4.2.3-x86_64) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 18.04 Using i3 as window manager. (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Something similar seems to happen if I select a color from the palette docker and switch between two images.
I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce this on KDE Neon with the plasma desktop or with i3.
Selecting a colour from the palette docker and then switching to another image tab, the brush outline disappears but the cursor remains. The brush paints normally and the brush outline reappears after one click or a brush stroke on or off the canvas. I don't see any outline or cursor change when using the Ctrl selector. (Using Debian 10 with MATE.)
Also see it under the default Ubuntu desktop (Non wayland version) And when I log in as a different user under the default Ubuntu desktop but with Wayland. Also have an identical laptop with Windows 10 on it. Will see what happens there.
Same happens under Windows 10 on a different laptop but identical hardware This is on Lenovo Thinkpad E560.
With Windows 10 (same machine), I get the same result as with Debian 10 MATE. With colour selection from the palette docker, I lose the brush outline but not the cursor, which I normally have as crosshairs. With the Ctrl picker, there is no loss.
I can reproduce this in the following condition and steps: Window mode: tabs - With two images open: - Change focus from canvas to any other docker, (example, Change brush opacity) - Now, do not make cursor enter the canvas area and change active image by selecting another tab. - Enter canvas and there will be no cursor. This does not happen in subwindow mode. Tested on macOS Qt 5.12.3
Under the conditions of Comment 7 I see loss of brush outline but no loss of cursor (crosshairs). If I then move the cursor off the workspace, the brush outline returns when I bring the cursor back to the workspace.
Can also reproduce this in 4.2.8-beta1.
This is something I constantly see with the git-master version, Qt5.13.1 on ubuntu 18.04
