Description Peter Csere 2019-09-23 02:07:40 UTC
SUMMARY

Using PureOS. Clips don't add to timeline when dragged or when using the menu.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Fresh install, open kdenlive.
2. Add a bunch of .mov clips. They import successfully and play on the viewscreen from the clip list on the left pane.
3. Try to drag and drop one to the timeline. Timeline shades but on release of mouseclick, the clip does not get added to the timeline. Multiply tries same result.
4. Try to use the menu option Timeline -> Insertion -> Insert clip zone in timeline. Also has no effect.

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT

That clip gets added to timeline... last time I used the software a few month ago it worked fine.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.08.1b to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/

If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

Update to the current distribution (even if you have the long term version).

I'm also experiencing this issue. I've tried the kdenlive-19.08.2-x86_64.appimage release and both pressing 'V' or picking "Timeline > Insertion > Insert Clip Zone in Timeline" do not work.
Comment 3 Jean-Baptiste Mardelle 2019-10-29 12:45:48 UTC
You need to define an active track (click on the track tag, eg. V1). The tag will become orange and then the insert operation will operate on that track.

Oooh, I see. Thanks! It must've changed in some more or less recent version, right? And my muscle memory habits suddenly didn't work :D

(I've confirmed it's working correctly on my machine)
