Description connectbhatta 2019-09-21 13:43:21 UTC
SUMMARY: When a file's location is opened through some other application, the dolphin is no more available in multiple desktops.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. In an setup where there are multiple virtual desktops (say 2) in Plasma, configure Dolphin to be available on all the desktops. This can be done by clicking on the pin icon in the top-left corner (`On All Desktops`) or right-clicking on the title-bar and selecting `Move to Desktop > All Desktops`

2. With this configuration, open the dolphin.

3. From another application (in my case, visual studio code), choose to `Open containing Folder`

OBSERVED RESULT:

1. This command opens a new tab in Dolphin with the appropriate location

2. But with this, the dolphin is no more available on both the desktops; it is available only in the desktop where this command was executed

EXPECTED RESULT: The dolphin should still be available in all desktops

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.61.0
Qt Version: 5.13.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Using Manjaro

In the meantime, you can do this:

Open Dolphin settings window > Startup > Uncheck "Open new folders in tabs".
