periodically crashes during update, but at other times also just crashes if you select any menu item.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. used command line to install new mail "interface"
2. also tried to sudo apt-get install a lib.* file but the feedback says I already have an updated version of the lib.* file installed
