Same problem for me: when I click on the update icon, it opens discover. It search for updates and crash before update it. It happen from few days only. I have also the 5.16.5 version
Unless you provide a different backtrace, let's assume it is common bug 411286.
Same issue here on KDE Neon User Ed.
