Description Rajinder Yadav 2019-09-09 03:26:59 UTC
SUMMARY

I've noticed application will stop responding for 3 to 5 seconds, long enough to really be annoying and distracting.

Af first this happened when using Firefox, but later the same thing happen when using Dolphin.

Basically the application will just hang and become unresponsive.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Too randomly to reproduce, it just happens.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 19.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2

Then I'm afraid it's going to be impossible to diagnose. It's also highly unlikely to be a problem in any part of the KDE software stack. I would recommend reporting this to the Kubuntu people or filing a kernel bug.

Could be fixed by https://cgit.kde.org/dolphin.git/commit/?id=56b3059f774ae5917185d91a380c9f0a95e7584f

Never mind, my comment was about start delay, not about hanging while using.

You can close this off, I've switched to openSuse Tumbleweed using KDE and this problem doesn't exist.

I also didn't notice this in Kubuntu 19.10 release before switching to openSuse so this seems to have been fixed.

Thank you.
