SUMMARY
I have installed Amarok 2.9.0 using KDE 4.14.38. I have imported music files to mu local collection. I can clear my playlist; I can add songs to my playlist. Whenever I press the play button, the computer completely locks up: Amarok no longer responds; I cannot open the terminal; I cannot open other applications. I have to power down my computer to recover. I am running Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Amarok
2. press play icon
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
computer stops responding to mouse or keyboard input.

EXPECTED RESULT
music would be nice...

Update: 8 Sept 2019: Uninstalled Amarok and reinstalled from scratch. Problem has not recurred. There may have been a problem with the original instillation: although the Amarok icon appeared in the Applications group, I had to double-click the icon to start. After reinstallation, Amarok opens with a single click on the icon.

Thank you for the feedback. Impossible to know what caused that glitch, we would have needed a debug output to explore.
