Description gionata.prinzo 2019-08-24 17:20:54 UTC
SUMMARY

When I create a proxy clip, the video in the timeline appears reduced in length, and it cannot be lengthened. Also when I switch off the proxy clip it returns to its original length. In case of long clips, if I switch off the proxy clip, the whole program directly crashes and closes itself.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. upload a long clip (my clip is 13 minutes long) and activate the proxy clip
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

if I insert the clip, it reduced in lenght. (The starting poin is correct, but it ends before).

EXPECTED RESULT

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If the clip is long, I see that there is a creation of "zone 1" and "zone 2". In my case these two files are exactly the same.

Thank you for reporting. To dig in further: Which clip type do you use (MP4)? Which project setting do you use (1080p25)?
Comment 2 gionata.prinzo 2019-08-30 09:28:57 UTC
Sorry for the late, I was in a vacancy.

The project setting is 1280x720 25.
The clip which is experiencing the problem is bigger, 3840x2160 29,98. And it's an mp4. I may try to reduce it to the same size, convert it and try again, if you agree. Let me know.

Yes try to convert the 3840x2160 clip to 1280x720 and try again.
Comment 4 gionata.prinzo 2019-08-31 14:25:14 UTC
hi,

I converted the clip to the same size and in a WEBM format. Proxy clips seems working fine. Even with the proxy clip activated I see that he doesn't cut anything.

The problem was with mp4?

What was the "zone1" and "zone 2" clips I was seeing?

Thank you for the support!
