SUMMARY Hi there :) I see the HDMI sound output in the KCM and the widget and it does prevent playing with the next listed device while its fully unplugged. So the application does somehow fail to recognize that the cable is unplugged. Since this device only features a DisplayPort, I go over a Displayport to HDMI adapter, in order to connect this laptop to the TV. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect device to TV via DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. 2. Set sound output to HDMI 3. Unplug the cable OBSERVED RESULT HDMI stays active as sound device EXPECTED RESULT HDMI goes inactive, next listed device in the list plays SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS All current, via rolling system. Is it fixed? Can you try again? Does connecting monitors and then running this in terminal fixes? or removing monitor in your case and then this in terminal? xrandr -q
