SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the ownCloud Music app on ownCloud or Nextcloud in your browser 2. Start playing any music track OBSERVED RESULT Music playback cannot be controlled by Plasma Integration, and querying media state says that nothing is playing (or the last compatible page) EXPECTED RESULT Info for the currently playing track is shown on the desktop, and the user can pause playback and jump to previous/next track from the session-wide media controls. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.2.8-zen Archlinux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60 Qt Version: 5.13.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have tested the exact same install of Plasma Integration with other services such as YouTube, and these work (that is, my particular install is not faulty)
I can confirm that this doesn't work.
Can you try enabling "Enhanced media controls" in the extension settings? With that enabled it works on a nextcloud instance, both from File browser and Music app.
Turns out in Firefox it doesn't work because of a content security policy set by Nextcloud which Firefox honors also for extension content scripts.
On Firefox, enhanced media controls do not change the situation. Though I can confirm that it is Firefox-specific. (Tested on Chromium, same machine, server and config, it works)
I'm currently going to mark the bug as resolved, since the playback control now works again on the latest version of the browser extension (tested today on same Nextcloud instance and config where the bug was discovered) Still, I would kind of like to see advanced controls (like album art) on ownCloud Music.
