SUMMARY It would be great to have support for rendering Affinity Photo (AFPHOTO) file thumbnails. These files have an embedded JPG preview which can be used in lieu of trying to process a proprietary format.

I take a look about AFPhoto format, and it's a proprietary Raster image, similar than PSD for photoshop. The most important software component to be able to extract preview is Exiv2. We use this library in digiKam. So reporting this wish to Exiv2 team will be a plus. Gilles Caulier

I seen the file in Exiv2 quickly closed. There is also another possible to ask to ImageMagick if a loader is under development to support this raster format. digiKam as a delegate image loader using Image Magick to support exotic image formats. For proprietary image formats, we cannot add thumbnails support. We have already plenty of format support through plugins, and especially one using ImageMagick. If a new proprietary format must be supported, this must be done trhough ImageMagick, not digiKam directly. So report this problem to ImageMagick project. Best Regards Gilles Caulier
