Description Janek 2019-08-16 12:12:23 UTC
SUMMARY

When I close the lid of my laptop while an external monitor is connected, the external monitor becomes primary monitor (dock and all windows move over), even though I have the power settings configured to "Do nothing" on lid close.
As soon as I open the lid, everything does move back, but I'd prefer to have a setting to don't move it away in the first place.

That is kscreen disconnecting the monitor since the monitor becomes inaccessible as you close it.
Comment 2 David Edmundson 2019-08-17 13:18:46 UTC
You want the windows to remain on a screen that isn't on?
Comment 3 Janek 2019-08-21 13:53:03 UTC
I'd like to have an option to do so. Sometimes I want to close my laptop lid but leave everything on, but when I'm in a workspace, I don't want my whole desktop to be visible on a big monitor while I'm away.
Comment 4 David Edmundson 2019-08-21 14:30:41 UTC
We are not going to have an option that leaves windows inaccessible.
