Created attachment 122146 [details] screenshot of multiply layer and its effect SUMMARY The multiply layer is not working correctly. The strokes just appear odd, light colored, and not at all what they are supposed to be. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download Krita App 2. Create Base layer coloring (brown skin tone) 3. Add multiply layer on top of shadowing 4. Attempt to shadow but it all turns into light colored oddities. OBSERVED RESULT No matter what color I choose, it all turns into odd light colors. Other color combinations do the same. EXPECTED RESULT It is supposed to lighten the layer below hence "multiply". Brush strokes should appear darker not lighter. No matter the colors I choose, the result is the same. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
You're working in CMYK color space. Multiply works much better in RGB. If you want to print your pictures later, better just work in RGB and use the soft-proofing method https://docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/soft_proofing.html to make sure your picture will look ok after printing.
