Description kinghat 2019-08-14 17:13:41 UTC
SUMMARY

removing application launchers doesnt remove them from the plasma shortcut entries in system settings.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. look in shortcut settings under plasma and note your launcher widgets
2. then add a couple default panels
3. then reload the shortcuts page by clicking an a different menu section and then go back to plasma shortcuts
4. see that shortcut entries were added for the application launchers
5. then go remove the added panels and refresh the shortcuts page again

OBSERVED RESULT

for me the entries are still there. removing them from the local config file doesnt fix it and they get put right back in.

EXPECTED RESULT

if an application launcher widget is removed its shortcut entry needs to be removed as well. its annoying because i have these leftover/phantom application launcher widgets keep taking control of my shortcut i set on a dashboard widget that i actually want and have to reset it after every reboot.

I can reproduce this in Plasma 5.21. Happens for system tray items that are given shortcuts too.

Applets remove their shortcuts when they are destroyed, so that's missing here
