SUMMARY Maybe I goofed things up when I tried to rename a Konqueror icon on the start menu? The error occurred in Q4OS Plasma. I right-clicked Konqueror in start menu and selected 'Edit Application'. I selected the 'Application' tab and renamed 'Konqueror' to 'Internet'. Konqueror's name did not change in the start menu, but I noticed the error at a later time when I opened Konqueror. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Q4OS 3.8 r4 Centaur (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: not sure how to find that one, linux noob :) KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Not sure if I messed up Konqueror, when I renamed it back to Konqueror and rebooted, the error number changed to 159988080, so I'm sure I messed the poor browser up! I will try to safely reinstall Konqueror to fix the error, but I did find an edit applications option by right-clicking on the start menu, which opened the KDE Menu Editor. Hopefully I won't jam up any more applications if I change any names there!
After removing the web browser from favorites, which is where I initially edited the name, I unlocked my desktop screen and re-opened it. It opened to the Konqueror website, whereas before it used to open to the KDE.org homepage. This time it did not display any error messages. After I renamed it back to Konqueror initially, I opened it twice right after and I got the second error message both times. It looks like the errors have stopped, but hopefully not to many people want to change names on the start menu and other places like myself. At least I did not have to remove and reinstall Konqueror to fix those errors. As a side note, it would be nice to have an easy option to add a preferred name to your icons. Windows and Mac OS both used shortcuts for a number of things, including their menus. I may look into it to see if a similar option is being used for the start menu in Q4OS and other Linux desktops. So far, I'm not sure if I missed any option to do this without getting to technical, but it's only my second day using this OS.
